Background & History
Emmanuel Ministries International was founded at Kota, Rajasthan, India in 1960 by Dr. M. A. Thomas, and his beloved wife, Ammini, who, received the God-given vision to fulfill the Great Commission in India & beyond. Dr. Thomas felt the call of God on his life while growing up in Kerala, South India, to reach the unreached millions of our great nation with the gospel of Jesus Christ, that brings a change from the inside out. So he, his wife, and a few others arrived in this area where they have endured persecution but also abundant ministry success in all the years since.
How We Began in Tenkasi
Emmanuel Ministries was established at Tenkasi, Tamil Nadu in November, 1989 by Dr. Sam George and his beloved wife, Elizabeth. Dr. Sam George never dreamed of coming to Tenkasi but when he felt that God is calling him to Tenkasi, he humbly accepted the call and moved to Tenkasi in November 1989 along with his family and others who became part of the growing Emmanuel family.
Emmanuel Ministries at Tenkasi was founded as Emmanuel Charitable & Educational Trust. Emmanuel Ministries is a faith based evangelical ministry, exists to support and extend the evangelistic calling and ministries of Dr. M.A. Thomas by proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all we can by every effective means available and by equipping others to do the same.
Our Mission
Emmanuel Charitable & Educational Trust seeks to glorify God by providing help for today and hope for tomorrow through the initiatives of its mission work and the power of the Gospel.
